Opera browser is used for general Internet applications such as displaying websites, receiving and sending e-mails, communicating management, RCC online chat, loading via torrent bit protocol and reading web feeds. Opera is available free of charge for PCs, mobile phones and tablets. Opera was launched as a research project at Telenor, Norway’s largest communications company.
This is a secure web browser that is both fast and rich in features. It has a slick interface that embraces a modern, minimalist look, coupled with stacks of tools to make browsing more enjoyable. These include such tools as Speed Dial, which houses your favorites and Opera Turbo mode, which compresses pages to give you quicker navigation, (even when you have a bad connection).
Opera has everything you need to browse the web via a great interface. From startup it offers a Discover page that brings fresh content to you directly; it displays the news you want by topic, country, and language. The Speed dial and bookmarks pages are also available to you at launch, which gives you easy access to the sites you use the most and those you’ve added to your favorite list.
Key features include:
- Sleek interface.
- Download manager.
- Customizable themes.
- Extensions.
- Speed dial.
- Private browsing mode.
- Discover provides fresh news content.
- Free VPN
- Adblocker
- Crypto wallet
- Newsfeed.
Opera provides an integrated search and navigation function, which is a common sight among its other, well known, adversaries. Opera utilizes a single bar for both search and navigation, instead of having two text fields at the top of the screen. This feature obviously keeps the browser window uncluttered, whilst providing you with top functionality.
Opera also includes a download manager, and a private browsing mode that allows you to navigate without leaving a trace. Opera allows you to install an array of extensions too, so you can customize your browser as you see fit. Although the catalog is significantly smaller than more popular alternatives, you’ll find versions of Adblock Plus, Feedly, and Pinterest.
Opera is a great browser for the modern web. In terms of numbers of users, it is behind Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer. However, it is bang up to date with cutting edge technology and remains a strong contender in the browser wars.
Overall, Opera has an excellent design coupled with top performance; it is both simple and practical. The keyboard shortcuts are similar to other competitors, the available options are varied and the Speed Dial interface is pleasant to use. You can also customize this app with themes and make you browsing experience even more personal. So, if you are thinking of trying something different than your usual browser, Opera could be the choice for you. In case you’re using an Android device, you may be interested in trying Opera Mini.

Portable Opera ? I dont think so ! Browser might be located everywhere but u lose valuable information cos browser still store information to user account folders so your logins and bookmarks are screwed up if u copy it to another account on the same OS or to move to another OS ! The whole point of having it portable is to preserve all your valuable information but that does Opera Portable not ! For having it portable with all your valuable information Browser must store all stuff in portable sub/directories otherwise its pointless to being portable – its the same if u install damn thing ! And when windows crashes u loose it all !!! MS with updates screwed up my user account login profile policy. I have manage to repair it to the state when it was before the crash. But Opera portable now shoving blank passwords area, but notifying there are 6 passwords. To make trouble even worse they encrypt files and couple it with user account password. That is good when u install damn thing with user profiles, but for portable version that is a very baaadddd one ! All the authors make portable out of installed one but no one changes it to true portable. That way Portable Opera browser is crippled out of functionality. Who wants to have portable browser that doesnt store your web and other logins properly ? That was a very negative experience for me ! Now i have to dig trough my browsing history luckily preserved to find those web logins (before i ditch damn browser) – create new web e-mail account and restore access (one still have to know which user name/email account he had in order to restore access) !!! Portable opera browser for that kind of use is total crap ! How to tell/investigate if browser is true portable ? Copy the whole folder to USB Key/Drive and then look if logins are preserved also browsing history and bookmarks / if not then u have been lured to have a fully functional portable browser. Also Portable browser should be contained to one folder so nothing goes into host !
